Finding the perfect fit for a chastity device can be tricky, especially when purchasing a cage online. While there is a reliable method for getting accurate measurements, it’s not an exact science. Everybody’s bits are shaped uniquely and behave differently. Some are growers and not showers. Others have junk that hangs like an Elephant trunk.
There are also personal preferences to take into consideration. Do you want your penis snug as a bug? Or do you want a little room to grow so you can feel the tantalizing resistance of the cage suppressing your erection? Whatever your size, shape, and personal preferences, by following the steps in this guide, you can find the right fit for you. So let’s get started.
The first thing you’ll need to know are your length and girth measurements…
Finding Your Length
- Using a ruler (or measuring tape, tailor tape, etc) place the end against your pubic bone at the very base of your penis.
- Lift your penis so it is parallel to the ruler.
- Record the length.
- Repeat 3-4 times throughout the day when you are around your average length
Using all 3 or 4 measurements, calculate your average flaccid length (sum of all measurements divided by the number of measurements taken.)
Finding Your Width/Girth
Girth can be measured in two ways. Either by measuring the circumference around your penis or simply the width across your penis from one side to the other. Obtain whichever measurements are seen on the listing of the cage you’re interested in.
As with measuring your length, you want the best approximation of your average girth. So measure yourself 3-4 times throughout the day, and divide the sum of these measurements by the number of measurements you took.
Measuring Circumference
- A tailor tape is ideal for this, but you can also use a string and a pen or marker.
- Wrap either the tape or string around your penis at its widest girth. You want it snug but not tight. If it’s pressing into your skin, it’s too tight.
- If using a tailor tape, your girth will be where the tape first touches its own tip.
- If using a string, mark the string where it meets the tip of the string.
- Using a ruler, measure the string from the tip to the mark you made.
- Repeat 3-4x throughout the day.
- Use the measurements to calculate your average girth.
Measuring Width
- While flaccid, lift your penis so it is parallel with the ground.
- Place a ruler across the top of your penis at its thickest point (usually near the bottom)
- Record the width
- Repeat 3-4x throughout the day
Why Measure Multiple Times?
When measuring your penis, it’s important to get a measurement that most closely approximates your average flaccid size. Because even when flaccid a penis’s size can fluctuate by a lot (think of your size in a cold shower vs a hot shower.
So the best way to find your average length is to measure your penis multiple times throughout the day and calculate the average measurement
For instance, you could measure once in the morning, once after lunch and once at night. Add the three measurements together and divide by three to get the average (or measure four times throughout the day, and divide the sum by four, etc…
Just remember that for each measurement, your penis should be as close as possible to its average length. Try not to measure when you are at your smallest or largest.
Using Your Measurements to Choose the Right Cage
The rule of thumb is that you want to choose a cage length that is as close to your measurement as possible. That said, there is wiggle room, and this is where personal preference comes into play. How snug do you want your cage? If you want to be snug as a bug with no room whatsoever to grow, then you’ll want a cage that is the same length, or even a bit shorter than your length measurements.
If you’re able to maintain perfect flaccidity while putting on a cage, some people are even able to fit into cages that are 2 or 3 sizes smaller than their average length. But for others, this takes weeks or months of “training.” And for some, wearing a chastity device that is too small can become uncomfortable after a while. So we recommend erring on the side of caution and ordering a size that is within an inch of your measured length.
For those who want a little room to grow, or who prefer less snugness in the fit, matching the length as closely as possible, or choosing a cage that is just slightly longer than your average length are both good options (for instance, if the length of the “Medium” size of a particular cage matches your length perfectly, you could opt for the “Large” size. We wouldn’t recommend buying the “Extra Large” size though.
If you opt for a size that is longer than your average length, just know that sometimes there may be some empty space in the tip of your device, when you are on the shorter side of flaccid.
That’s it! By following the recommendations in this guide you’ll be ready to pick out your perfect cage. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via the contact page.
